The Clough Masonic Lodges Management Committee ( Lodges 574 & 769 ) held a Big Breakfast event in Broughshane Community Centre between 8.30am and 11.00am this morning. By the time that I had arrived at 9.00am the Community Centre had quite a crowd already in and enjoying their cooked breakfasts. On this occasion funds were being raised to support the Hall Building fund and The Motor Neuron Disease Association.

This was very much a family occasion with support across both local Lodges and their near neighbours. Very much in evidence was Wor Bro Lexie Scott Secretary of 574 Lodge and Wor Bro William Greer, Secretary of Shaw Memorial Lodge No 769. Right Excellent Companion W James Lynch Deputy District Grand King of The District Grand Chapter of Antrim was present with a number of other past and present Provincial Grand Lodge of Antrim Officer also in attendance.

It was a very enjoyable morning when we all got an opportunity to talk to friends old and new. And more importantly by close of play at 11.00 am some £ 2,150.00 had been lifted at the door. Once the cost of food ( £ 500.00 ) was deducted the Management Committee currently have the sum of £ 1,650.00 ( Sixteen Hundred and Fifty pounds ) to distribute. And usually, at these event more donations will come in, on the days ahead from Brethren who were not able to make it on the day,

Robert Bashford.
