Brethren, tonight we have a rare opportunity to join with our good friend Very Wor Bro Jim McCord
and celebrate his excellent work on behalf of St John’s Masonic Lodge No 162 Islandmagee in
planning, organising, and executing several years of effort with his team of helpers in raising considerable
sums of money within the Lodge to support their selected Masonic and Non-Masonic charities. Most
years his team raised in the region of £ 8,000.00 per year by their efforts and in a couple of recent years
raised quite a bit more.
Provincial Grand Lodge became aware of the amounts concerned and at their recent Installation.
in the Kingfisher, Templepatrick they took the opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding work.
being carried out by Jim and his team, by investing Jim as an Honorary Past Provincial Junior Grand
Warden in the Provincial Grand Lodge of Antrim. He was present at the Installation and was called up
to receive his Certificate of Rank.
Tonight, we all have the undoubted pleasure of joining with Jim to mark his recent honour, giving us.
all an opportunity to take part in a celebration of his many achievements carried out on behalf of the
Lodge. One high point of the evening was the unveiling of his photographic portrait, which is now
hanging in the Lodge-Room as a reminder to all of the importance of the Charity element in our day.
