Lodge 96, Stalwart – Annual Away Day

Lodge 96 traveled to Moville in the County of Donegal for their annual away day.  The Lodge was hosted by Lodge 297, St Columb’s, Moville. Meanwhile the Stalwart ladies enjoyed an afternoon shopping & music in Londonderry, while soaking up the

glorious sunshine and atmosphere of the annual jazz festival in the city.

The sun was shining in equal measure in Moville (or is that Moo-ville), with a gentle breeze off the sea and glorious views across lough Foyle to the Benevenagh Mountain.  The Brethren made their way to the hall were they were met by Brethren of Lodge 297 and made very welcome. Our thanks are great extended to Worshipful Brother Duncan Marshall for all his assistance in facilitating the visit.  The meeting was attended by a large number of Brethren of Lodge 297 and other visitors.  Provincial Assistant Grand Masters of the Province of Londonderry and Donegal, Right Worshipful Brothers Kenneth Doherty and Graham Harper also attended to meeting, and we of Stalwart are greatly appreciative that they took time from their busy schedules to welcome us in their Province.

The meeting having concluded, the Brethren enjoyed some light refreshment before returning to collect the ladies.  Following which all proceeded to Campsie, where all enjoyed an excellent meal with excellent service, in very comfortable surroundings of the Whitehorse hotel.

Our thanks are particularly extended to our Lodge Secretary, Right Worshipful Brother Jim Mc Gookin for his personal efforts and attention the every detail in insuring that the day progressed smoothly and according to plan.
