Poem by new W. M of Alfreds 59 read during his installation
As I entered a grand old room
I knew not what I’d see
T’was like leaving the dark night
to a morning bright for me
There were men, I knew in passing
and some friends to attending Just to begin with
But my goodness by the ending
I could scarce believe it
For there were very many others
By the time I left that evening
I had 40 brand new brothers
Soon I held a beautiful staff
With a mighty eagle bird
It never would fly backwards
Atleast that’s what i heard
In time I’d move around the room
North south east and west
Every second Monday
I met with County Antrim’s best
Men of honour
I need not be guarded here
A place of peace and comfort
I had no need of fear
We look out for one and other
Endeavor to be better than we were
The best version of ourselves
Men who really care
We relax in good company
Have festive boards from time to time
My life is much the richer
With Alfred’s fifty nine

A great amount of money was collected for our masonic charities which our Stewart of Charities will be pleased to hand over to Arthur Square District Charity Committee at its next meeting.
The music then devolved into a karaoke and we were treated to some great and unknown talented brothers.
The evening ended with peace love and harmony, so much so that 3 non mason guests have now enrolled for new membership, a great day had by all.
