WORSHIPFUL BROTHER MAURICE LAWRENCE KANE 50 YEARS IN IRISH FREEMASONRY
1969 – 2019
On Wednesday 13th November 2019 at our stated communication the W.M, W. Bro M.
Lawther had W. Bro M.L Kane presented to the foot of the dais. The W.M addressed
W. Bro Kane and said it was his great honour and privilege to congratulate him and
present him with his 50 yr jewel and certificate from GLOI. On behalf of the brethren of 166 the W.M thanked him and paid tribute for his unwavering support for the Lodge and the Brethren
and commended him on
setting such a fine example to
the younger Brethren.
Bro Maurice, Lawrence Kane
was initiated into St Georges
Masonic Lodge No 166 on 10th
September 1969 and passed to
the Fellowcraft on 8th October
1969 and finally, raised to Sublime or Master Mason Degree on 30th April 1970.
W. Bro Maurice Kane served St Georges Masonic Lodge as Worshipful Master in 1983.
He also held also the office of treasurer for a number of years and latterly served the Lodge as the Almoner. W. Bro Kane is well known for his contribution to that particular office and has set the precedence for any successors very high. It is a great privilege for all the Brethren, members of 166 as well as the current Worshipful Master and Officers to congratulate W. Bro Maurice Kane in reaching his 50-year milestone in Irish Freemasonry.
