NIMUFA (Northern Ireland Masonic Ulster Fry Association), Straid Masonic Breakfast Club along with the Belfast Masonic Charities donated a selection of toys and wooden education toys to Horizon SureStart.

On Friday 1st December 2023 W Bro. Paul Williamson and Bro Gary Bond delivered a substantial selection of various toys and educational toys to Horizon SureStart Carrickfergus and Larne.

SureStart is a government funded initiative specifically for families with children under four years, the services are completely free for families living in Sunnylands, Northlands, Clipperstown, Lovelane and Killycrot wards of Carrickfergus along with services in Larne’s Antiville, Ballyloran and Craigyhill areas.

The services provided fall under three categories:

·         Health

·         Family Support

·         Early Learning

SureStart offer one to one support or group support, some programmes are for the parents, and the children will be offered a creche place, and other programmes are for parents and children together.

The overall aim of Surestart is “to improve the wellbeing and life opportunities of young children under 4, through better health, early learning and play opportunities” so that “children can flourish when they enter school”.

The staff where highly delighted we had taken the time and included them in our distribution thoughts.
