Moyarget Masonic Lodge No 280 present a Moyarget Apron to their oldest Lodge member – Wor Bro James Huey

Tonight the Brethren of Moyarget Masonic Lodge No 280, assembled in the Masonic Hall, Moyarget, and made a special presentation of a Moyarget Apron to their oldest Lodge member – Wor Bro James Huey, who had just completed some 73 year membership of Moyarget Masonic Lodge. Back in January 2023, at our Installation Rt Wor Bro John McLernon, Provincial Grand Master of Antrim had presented a Grand Lodge Certificate to mark 70 years service to the Craft and a jewel and bar to mark his 70 years to Wor Bro James Huey, our oldest surviving member.  Bro Huey actually lives in Pennsylvania, but attends twice a year, every year at our Lodge Installation in January and our annual closing meeting in June, every year.  He has an outstanding attendance record, rarely missing these two meetings every year, and his attendance is much better than many of our other members, who only live a few miles from our Hall. Wor Bro Huey was well known to our Provincial Grand Master, a Brother that our P.G.M. has known for most of his life, and who once lived in Stranocum, close to the McLernon family, before he headed off to make his fortune in the United States of America.

There was a very good turn out of Moyarget members tonight to mark this special evening and once the meeting finishes, we all enjoyed a social hour before setting off homewards.
