On Saturday 6th April 2024, Lodge 96 held its Installation of Officers in the Ballymena Masonic Centre.
The Officers of the Lodge Distinguished guests and Brethren having assumed their places, the Worshipful Master Alister Wade offered the Maul to the Provincial Grand Master, R.W. Brother John McLernon, who declined the invitation giving way to a greater authority waiting outside the door.
The Worshipful Master opened the Lodge with confidence & all the enthusiasm of the occasion. Having extended a warm welcome to all and salutes of honour to distinguished Brethren, the Grand Master R.W. Brother Rodney McCurley was formally received and occupied the Chair for a short time.
Having returned the Maul to the Worshipful Master the installation of the Officers proceeded. The Worshipful Master invited Worshipful Brother Tommy Dowds to install his successor R.W Brother James McGookin. This done the Worshipful Master installed his officers in his polished manner with the confidence of his long years of experience. James has previously been Installed in the Chair of Lodge 1020 in 2004, 431 Prince Fredrick William of Prussia in 2017 and 503 Castledawson in 2014.
The Installation was remarkable for the exceptional standard of Ceremony & Ritual displayed by all involved.
Following the Installation, the Brethren enjoyed a festive board in the Adair Arms Hotel
