DOAGH UNION 317 ANNUAL TRIP TO FREEMASONS’ HALL, DUBLIN

After a break of two years due to the Covid pandemic, Doagh Union Masonic Lodge 317 resumed its annual trip to Freemasons’ Hall, 17 Molesworth Street, Dublin on Saturday 5th November 2022. After a hearty breakfast in McConnell’s Lounge in Doagh, Brethren, partners, family and friends got on to the coach bound for Dublin. At the top of Grafton Street, the coach stopped so that the shoppers could alight for some serious retail therapy, the cries from the remaining Brethren to stick to a 20 euro limit was wilfully ignored. A few minutes later the coach parked up just outside Molesworth Street where a warm welcome was received by the friendly staff at Freemasons’ Hall. The Lodge had the privilege once again of holding an Emergency Communication in the splendid surroundings of the Grand Lodge Room and were pleased to have visiting Brethren from Doagh Olive 467, Friendship Lodge 513, Ligoniel, and Thiepval Masonic Lodge 1020, Broughshane.

Following the meeting the brethren adjourned to Buswells Hotel to await the return of the shoppers who duly arrived with heavy shopping bags and lighter purses. On the return journey home, the coach made a stop at Newry Masonic Centre were, as usual, a hot buffet was waiting for the hungry travellers. After a couple of hours, the party was back on the road again homeward bound after a long and enjoyable day in great company.
