St. Johns Masonic Lodge 162, Islandmagee.

St. Johns Masonic Lodge 162 Islandmagee ran their third Charity Afternoon Tea on Sat 28th April 2018 with fifty five people in attendance.

The W. Master James McCord supplied a glass of Prosecco or soft drink on arrival.  All the sandwiches, scones, cakes and tray bakes where either donated or made by the members wives and where greatly appreciated by all.

The Provincial Assistant Grand Master of Antrim R. W. Brother John Edens after saying a few words was presented with a cheque for £600 by the W. Master for Action Cancer.

The money was raised from a charity night ran by the lodge in March consisting of a Slide Show of Old Belfast by Bro Tommy Atkinson (The Belfast Cowboy) including a Quiz and Hot Dog Supper.

After Tea the guest speaker Rev. Colin Hall-Thompson gave a very interesting and informative short talk on The Mission to Seafarers (The Flying Angle) and the charitable work they carry out.

The W. Master then announced that the Afternoon Tea and Ballot had raised £975. The W. Masters daughter Susanne Sherratt made it up to £1000.

The W. Master presented Rev. Colin Hall-Thompson with a cheque for £500 towards the Mission with further £250 being donated to Chest, Heart and Stroke and £250 to R.N.L.I.

An enjoyable day was had by all.
